Pleasant Valley - The Dundas neighbourhood of Pleasant Valley can be described as it sounds, a pleasant valley community in which to live. Pleasant Valley is bordered west by Governors Road, Cootes Drive to the east, and south by the Ancaster neighbourhood of Sulphur Springs. Dundas' Pleasant Valley encompasses some of the region's most beautiful homes, including one and two-story detached townhouses and low or high-rise condominiums. Pleasant Valley is a distinctly wonderful neighbourhood for singles, couples, and families to live.
Uplands - The Uplands neighbourhood is a combination of rocky hills, ravines, and lakes. Many homes in Uplands have lovely views, and the area is generally affordable, and homes are well established. Central Nanaimo - Central Nanaimo is just that... central; it borders Northfield Road to the South, Island Highway in the East, and the Parkway in the west. The area is divided between older single-family homes and newer condos and townhouses, and a commercial area along Bowen Road. Single-family homes are generally older, and smaller houses around the hospital are ideal for first-time buyers, investors, or singles and couples. Lot sizes vary, including higher density and older properties with established landscaping. The condo and townhouse complexes are located near the hospital.
Departure Bay - The Departure Bay area is located on the hills that surround Departure Bay itself. Imagine the stunning views and many homes in the area over the neighbourhood with ferries coming throughout the bay all day. The houses in the area are older, with most of them being 30 years and older. There are funky homes down by the beach and some modest split-levels and many semi-luxury to luxury homes perched around the shoreline and high on the surrounding hills.

Chase River - Chase River is the first development residents will see once leaving South Nanaimo. Located right beside the Nanaimo River Estuary and too convenient shopping in the area and close to the Parkway. This is an excellent choice for young families and first-time homebuyers as the area is relatively affordable.
Lower Lantzville - Located on the northern border of the city of Nanaimo, BC, the peaceful community of Lower Lantzville is broken into two neighbourhoods by the Lower and Upper. Lower Lantzville is not mixed with Upper Lantzville as some homes here are lovely oceanfront homes with impressive acreage. The district is almost entirely residential, with some commercial buildings on the main street.
North Nanaimo - The North Nanaimo area offers some of the best views in the city.
