There are several great towns that are close to Bear Mountain that are made up of welcoming people and attractions that lure the neighboring communities. The towns that surround the town have great shopping, restaurants, and plenty of recreational activities. Some of the surrounding towns are:
Bear Mountain to Sidney takes about 34 minutes to get from one city to the other. There are three main ways to commute, and they include bus, car, and taxi. Sidney is a town located at the northern end of the Saanich Peninsula, on Vancouver Island. There are approximately 11,583 residents that call Sidney home with many of them being senior citizens. The town is the only Canadian port-of-call in the Washington State Ferries system.
The most popular attraction is Sidney-by-the-Sea as it is a gateway to the southern Gulf Island National Park Reserve. This is a great area for kayaking, whale-watching, bird-watching, and scuba diving. In the local history museum house, there are displays about the history of the Peninsula. The British Columbia Aviation Museum has artifacts, displays, restored historical aircraft, and a vintage aircraft restorations workshop.
