Colwood was originally one of four large farms that were established by the Hudson's Bay Company. It wasn't until 1985 that enough was built up in the area and the population began to climb that Colwood was incorporated. The Highlands: A beautiful stretch of land along the Saanich Inlet shoreline makes up the boundaries for the Highlands.
