Crofton is a small district of North Cowichan is a great bay coastal town that is perfect for those that love the ocean and want a very quiet and sleepy town feel. Crofton is located on Vancouver Island and is a beautiful area. The residents are lovingly referred to as Croftonians and the town motto is Rock Crofton, or "Rock Often."
Crofton was founded in 1902 by Henry Croft and is now a sleepy village style town that is perfect for those that like a small town feel and really like a beautiful view as well. The homes in this area are almost all smaller cottage style homes with some larger private homes mixed in. The area is great for retirees or for those that are looking for a great summer home or a place to vacation or just get away from it all.
Because this is a coastal town you do get beautiful sweeping views of the ocean which is stunning and you also get to have the really great feeling of a sea town. Crofton was included in the regional bus system in 2006 so you can get around without a car if you prefer. Crofton does have a large tourist population as many people pass through on their way to Saltspring Island.
This small village like town is great for those that like to remember a simpler time and that really enjoy a sleep way of life. There are plenty of local shops that sell necessities and the close proximity to Duncan makes it easy to go into Duncan to get the things that you cannot get at the local shops. Crofton is a lovely little area that has plenty to offer and that is going to be truly stunning and great fun for the entire family. Crofton does not have large apartment complexes like more metropolitan areas but does boast some fantastic views that you cannot get anywhere else.
