Every February the Maple Sugar Festival comes to Nanaimo to share its one-of-a-kind bilingual event inspired by eastern Canada’s sugar shack traditions. From February 22 to 24 there will be tons of fun activities including performances by multiple musicians, dancers, and street performers as well as a French Canadian food fare. Coldest Night Of The Year Walk

Grab your scarf, mittens and toques to enjoy the Coldest Night of the Year. This family-friendly walk raises money for charities serving the hurting, hungry, and homeless people in the community. Registration opens at 4 pm and is free for children under 10, for youths (11-17) who raise a minimum of $75 and for adults (18+) who raise a minimum of $150.
